“Dare to be bold!”
An edition under the sign of boldness — boldness in form, in image, in perspective. Whether cult classics or brand-new discoveries, the festival invites you to experience films that dare!
A cinema that is inventive, sensitive, and resolutely open to the world — to its cultural diversity.
Since 1991, the festival has invited young audiences aged 2 to 14 and their families to step into the darkness of the cinema, to embrace discovery and change, and to shake up their habits.
It naturally continues its mission by showcasing works that love to explore the boundaries of imagination and storytelling conventions. Because growing up also means testing limits, learning to question and re-question, opening up to others, nurturing one’s curiosity, and cultivating one’s mind.
36th edition
The Ciné Junior Festival will celebrate its 36th edition from February 4 to 15, 2026, across 63 cinemas and cultural venues in seven departments of the Île-de-France region: Val-de-Marne (where it was founded), Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, and Seine-Saint-Denis.
In light of a challenging economic context for the cultural sector and festivals in France, Ciné Junior has chosen to adjust its schedule: the 36th edition will run for 12 days, two fewer than in previous years.
This carefully considered decision ensures the preservation of the quality, diversity, and artistic excellence that have built the festival’s reputation.
Ciné Junior was initiated and is supported by the Val-de-Marne Departmental Council, and is organized by the association Cinéma Public Val-de-Marne.
In partnership with the DRAC Île-de-France and the Île-de-France Region, the festival welcomes over 53,000 spectators each year.
Ciné Junior has become a key event for film education and global awareness among young audiences from the age of three. It also highlights films selected for its International Competition for feature and short films, offering financial and technical support to the award-winning works during their release.
