My Small Land
With a Special Mention at the Berlinale International Film Festival, My Small Land gives us a glimpse into the daily life of a Kurdish family immersed in Japanese culture. A touching story, showing the viewer the problems linked to a father’s immigration with his two daughters to Japan. A drama that’s both singular and universal, imbued with wisdom that challenges, questions, and leaves an indelible mark.
Sarya and her sister Lily were born in Japan to a family of Kurdish refugees. The sisters are torn between a desire to integrate and an attachment to their origins, instilled by their father.
